Bike ride to Drowned Lands Brewery

June 5, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

Join the SHSC for a bike ride on Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 am. Ann Rice will lead a ride on the Heritage Rail Trail, located in Orange County, N.Y.  The Heritage Trail is a multi-use trail and was built on the former Erie Railroad main line. This beautifully paved path runs through woods, farms and fields and passes through the hamlets of Harriman, Monroe, Chester and Goshen.

We will not bike the entire trail but will start our ride at Airplane Park in Monroe N.Y. heading north towards Goshen. If the need arises, we can split into two groups ( shorter ride/longer ride). For those who want a leisurely ride can choose to turn around in the town of Chester for a total of 10.8 miles rt.  For those folks who want a bit more exercise can continue riding into Goshen for a total of about 20 Miles rt.  Of course, you can turn around anytime and anywhere you choose.

Directly after biking we will be meeting at the Drowned Lands Brewery which is a 15 minute car ride away from Monroe. This craft brewery is located in a beautifully restored historic building in bucolic Warwick and serves craft beers, gluten free ciders and has a fajita food truck with a vegetarian option. We are able to bring our own snacks as well and eat outside on picnic tables located on the breweries’ beautifully landscaped lawn.

Guests and people interested in joining the club are welcome to attend.  If you are interested in attending, please use the contact form.
