With Vermont being the epicenter of craft beer in the northeast, there are many wonderful taverns and brewpubs in the area serving some of Vermont’s finest beers. Below is a partial list of brewpubs and taverns located near the lodge and surrounding mountains.

Mad River Barn | Fayston | A good place for both Après ski pub food and drinks, as well as a nice dinner out. Upstairs has the bar, sofas, small tables and large (with benches and chairs), and the atmosphere where you can meet other skiers and talk about your day’s adventures. It is perfect for singles, couples, or even families with kids. There is a big screen tv, shuffleboard and other games. But know that it may be a bit loud (although not rowdy). General Stark’s Pub (at Mad River Glen) | Waitsfield | General Stark’s pub and grill is the bar/restaurant that is housed in the “basebox” at the Mad River Glenn Ski Resort. It’s named after General Stark Mountain, which is the peak that MRG’s legendary single chair ascends. There are about 14 beers on-tap here, and almost all of it is brewed in VT. There were beers from Switchback, Rock Art and Lawson’s (including Double Sunshine and Fayston Maple).
